Language Choices for International Families - Languages in Everyday Life (Lecture #2 from the Series at Folkuniversitetet)

When: March 20, 2023, 5:30 p.m.

Where: Online

Are you a family that speaks two or more languages? The Language Choices for International Families lecture series might be for you!

During these presentations by a language expert, you can discuss language and education related issues such as bilingualism and literacy.

During these lectures there will be discussions about the balancing act that comes with speaking multiple languages in a family. You will learn about the challenges and the benefits of being bilingual.

You will learn strategies about how to maintain all the languages in the family besides Swedish and English.

You will get tips on how to maximize the limited time you can spend with each language, capitalizing on friends, family and the opportunities available in Sweden.

By the end of the lectures you will create a roadmap of your children’s language learning including their schooling for the short - and the long run.

Remember, this is a series of lectures and although you can sign up separately for each lecture, it is worth attending all of them in the order given, if you can, because the lectures are built on each other.
